The hall dates from 1881, and was formerly home to the late Sir John Ainsworth,Bart, M.P., becoming a school in 1925.
Traditional oak panelling, spacious accommodation and a spirit of history give to the hall a warm and gentle feel - a home within a school.
Extensive grounds, alive with rhododendrons, azaleas and beech wood, also boast a magnificent panorama of the famous Wasdale Screes and the highest mountain in England, Scafell Pike.
