DUKE OF EDINBURGH

We are now looking for new members to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme at the Bronze Award Level.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme is an internationally recognised award. It is not a youth organisation but a programme of various elements flexible enough to meet the children's enthusiams and aptitudes. It covers four sections and participants follow their chosen activities in their own time with guidance from someone in their chosen field. Minimum standards are laid down which have to be met in order to qualify for the award. A badge and a certificate are presented on behalf of the Duke of Edinburgh to mark their achievement.

Meetings are held in school by Mrs. Jo Eldon and other qualified volunteers on Monday evenings between 7.00-8.30 pm and also at other times. Some weekends are also used for training and practice expeditions between the beginning of April and the end of October.
